Summer in the Hamptons Family Beach Session

When Tabitha contacted me to capture her family on their summer vacation on the east end of Long Island, I was so excited. I mean who doesn’t want to go and work on the beach?

She had rented a house out in Springs. Her family came in from such places as Mexico, and Oregon. It was a vacation to remember and she wanted to document the occasion. We met at her rental vacation home and then drove out to the beach at Hither Hills. I was nervous as it was taking longer to get to the each than anticipated, however we were able to catch the last of the golden light and precious moments. Some of her family had never seen the ocean before, so that was a treat to capture.

Her mother was there, along with her sister and some of the cousins that traveled far with Grandma for the reunion.

These are just a handful of the amazing moments along with family portraits that I captured that day.

A Long Island Farm Wedding | Shannon Lee Photography

I had the pleasure of capturing Kim and Darin’s Wedding. The two of them are so sweet together. They met on Tinder when they both swiped right! They celebrated the beautiful day with their children, family, and friends.

We started the day at the Marriot Residence Inn in Riverhead, NY. I have to say, it was my first time capturing the getting ready photos there and I was very impressed. Very modern and fun hotel. I captured some details of the groom and his soon to be step son getting ready.

Next I ventured off to capture the lovely bride, their daughter, and the details with them. One thing that really caught my attention was the girls bouquets. They were made of wood! Gorgeous and lighter than regular flowers. I couldn’t believe how beautiful they were. What a keepsake, I think everyone should have wood flowers! The artist that made them can be found on Etsy here.

Family Portraits and A Lifestyle Session with Hot Cocoa | Bellport | Shannon Lee Photography

Long Island has so many hidden gems, and Downtown Bellport is no exception. When my clients told me they wanted me to capture their family portraits at the historic Temperance Hall in Bellport I was so excited. I mean the bed and breakfast is completely beautiful and so charming. I jumped up and down for joy. I think I need to book myself a little getaway there in the near future. I suggested that after the shoot, perhaps we could walk downtown to get some hot cocoa since I would be capturing 6 kiddos with their parents and their grand parents. Multi-generational; so special. Here are some portraits and special moments captured from this special shoot.

What a beautiful family! They had part of the family in town from California and other areas and had to take advantage of capturing the entire family altogether.

Summer Time Fun on Long Island in the Sunflowers Photography Session

I had so much fun celebrating with these two little girls as they were about to turn 3 yrs old. We  frolicked and played in the beautiful sunflower field here on Long Island. As a photographer here on Long Island, I have the pleasure of picking beautiful spots to photograph my clients. This is one of my favorite spots. I have another special sunflower field I will also be shooting in for next summer as well.

As you can imagine, two little (almost) 3 year old twins is a lot to wrangle in, but we had a great time.

Open Mic Night with Chloe Ray | Rayvolution |Croydon London| Project B | Shannon Lee Photography

I just got back last week from a trip I took from Long Island over to the U.K. I have it as my yearly goal to go once a year for about a week to visit dear friends, take a mental break, and capture some life over there with my camera. My friend, Chloe Ray, a top singer-songwriter on iTunes in the U.K. hosts open mic nights for musicians to gather and share their talents. She asked me to capture the night. It was a great time with so much talent.  Scroll through to see the mega talent that was displayed that night.

The venue is a quaint little place down in Croydon. The streets are filled with street art and artistic vibes.

Anthony & Stephanie | Lombardis on the Bay | Wedding Photography| Shannon Lee

Congratulations to Anthony and Stephanie who celebrated their love this past weekend at Lombardis on the Bay.

Anthony and Stephanie met at a mutual friend's party and it was clear from the start that they had a special connection. Stephanie feels that her late father hand picked Anthony from up above just for her.  Ever since then, these two have been inseparable. Unless of course, that is if Anthony is scheduled to leave on deployment with the United States Air Force. He was scheduled to leave for tour the week after his wedding, but the day of the wedding, he got an amazing phone call that said he could stay. He has served 3 tours in the past and was very excited to be able to enjoy his honeymoon with his bride.

Stephanie is an amazing part of this partnership. She is the ying to his yang. She is full of life and works as a phlebotomist at St.Charles Hospital.  She wore a gorgeous gown from Fantasia Bridal, located in Rocky Point, Ny.

Lisa Lisa was there as a dear friend of theirs and sang two songs to them during the reception. As a fan of 80's/90's music, I was very excited to witness that.  It was an unbelievable night despite the rain and heavy fog. I wish this couple many years of love and happiness.

Snow days! |Long Island's Bomb Blizzard 2018| Shannon Lee Photography

Winter days on Long Island are very unpredictable. Will it be cold this year or mild? Will we get early snow, or late snow, or no snow at all? One thing for sure, is that if it does snow, a lot of us hope for a snow day so we can stay in and cuddle up and enjoy the day. As a parent who works from home a lot with my photography business, these days are a joy because I get to sleep in and not get my boys up to take my toddler to preschool. I am sure, however, that these days do cause some unwanted anxiety when you parents still have to get up for work and figure out the unsupervised child/children situation. With the blizzard that hit the East Coast and many of us here in New York I am sure some of these scenes I captured were also happening in your homes too. I hope you all faired well and stayed warm.

When you are done here, make sure to travel around to the blogs of my fellow photographers to see there amazing work. Next up is Angee and her link is at the end of this blog post.

Board games and snacks! Anyone else almost run out of snacks during this cold spell with the blizzard? I swear they will eat me out of this house.

Candy Land! Santa brought us this game and its a classic for sure. I love it because my little guy can play it with his big brother because he knows his colors. Baby bro is entertained with his leap pad that Santa brought him.

These Magna- Tiles are amazing. We all love playing with them. Great stem play toys for your kiddos. I highly recommend them and we will be buying more ourselves. Everyone wants to play with them.

Where there is a cold spell, there may also be a cold, which calls for home-made soup! I love that my little guy loves soup like his mommy and daddy.

Love this image of my husband reading his hiking book while our 4 year old is playing on his leap pad but looks bored. I feel you buddy, mommy wants to get out too.

How many of you have to run a humidifier to keep the dry air out of our littleness so they can breathe better? On this day we did some drawing and then my son decided it as fun to watch the paper go up in the humidifier air.
